Swimming

When you want to swim, your body benefits from this healthy exercise. You can swim because it is fun or it is a way to cool yourself off. You can go to the beach or to one of your family members. Or you may have the opportunity of owning your own pool. When you swim, you need to do this on a regular basis, because it takes all of the strain off your body. It is great exercise and you build endurance.

It gives you great muscle strength and it works your cardio-vascular fitness. When you don't own a pool, you can go to a swim club or a YMCA and it will give you a great cross-training element for a warm-up session. It increases your heart rate and increases your muscle strength, as you swim. Sometimes you will want to go in the pool after you get done working out. It helps to cool you down and it helps your blood flow to get to your muscles.

If you are with a group, this would be a good time for you to workout. You can do water aerobics, or a swim club practice and this would be a great way to socialize as a group. It doesn't make you lose weight as you swim. You do use a lot of calories swimming, but once you get out of the pool, the calorie burning stops. If you want to lose weight, you should run or cycle instead.
