Bicycling for Exercise and Fun

A great way to get out and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air is to go bicycling. Bicycling is great physical exercise, it burns lot of calories, is a great stress reducer, and keeps your body in good physical condition.

There are many forms of bicycling that a person can choose to engage in. Mountain biking requires a person to be in good physical condition, because it requires lots of energy and stamina. For this type of cycling, bicyclers will ride trails on mountains, and even engage in different types of jumps with their bike. This is very exerting and exhausting, and if the person is not accustomed to it, they could end up getting injured. Most mountain bikers that you meet are very aggressive riders.

Another form of bicycling is pleasure riding. This type of cycling is done wherever the person may want to ride. Others bicyclers will competition ride or choose to ride in groups, and will form bicycle clubs, racing or cycling in groups from a certain point to another designated point. Sometimes there will be a specific set time to get from one point to the other.

There are many bicycle clubs and groups that a person can get involved in. Some require you to be a certain age, where others have no restrictions whatsoever. You should ask before joining to make sure that you fit the criteria for their club or group.

Another form of cycling is the stationery mode. There are exercise bicycles that are made strictly for exercising. These types of bicycles are used mainly to stay in shape and get the heart rate up. Many people choose these for use during the winter months.
