Travel Deals for Seniors

Cruises provide the best travel packages. Your lodging, meals, entertainment, and travel is all-inclusive in one price. Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Princess, Carnival, and Windstar Cruises have accommodations for disabilities. Check to verify that your boat has these accommodations for the disabled since not all ships have them. Also, don’t forget to ask for the senior discount. The travel agent won’t give it to you unless you ask!

There are several items to bring with you to ensure a fun-filled vacation. Pack an extra week of prescription medication. Does you vacation destination have peculiar viruses, such as, malaria? Before you leave, get an anti-malaria shot. Also, bring with you self-treatment for moderate to severe diarrhea, such as, bismuth subsalicylate or lope amide. And pack an antacid and a mild laxative.

Remember your allergy medication, and also 1% hydrocortisone crème for mild allergic reactions. Colds are a common occurrence so bring a decongestant and throat lozenges.

Cruise ships are like huge hotels on water; however, there will be some rocking from ocean movements. The first couple of days you may have some sea sickness so bring with you motion sickness medication.

Pack pain relievers: acetaminophen, aspirin, or ibuprofen . Take with you antifungal and antibacterial ointments. Don’t forget lubricating eye drops, and hand sanitizers.

Bring a first aide kit which has bandages, gauze, an elastic bandage, antiseptic, tweezers, scissors, and cotton-tipped applicators.

Grandparents traveling with their grandchildren is a cherished memory. However, children get hungry often so bring water and snacks.
