BINGO... This was one of the first games we learned to play as kids. Now, seniors are beginning their second childhood and it shows up again. By the time that most become seniors, their activities dwindle somewhat in comparison to what they used to do.
There are some activities that just are not fitting for seniors because of age or maybe an exertion level. With good old bingo, there is no exertion, it keeps them active, and there is even a little brain exercise from having to pay attention and place numbers in the correct slots. However, now bingo is made of cards with sliding tabs to cover the numbers and dobbers are also used. Dobbers are usually for the paper cards organizations have which are specials that may earn them extra money.
Sometimes, the senior has extra time on their hands and just wants to do something. Bingo has become so popular that many organizations are offering the game on a regular basis.
There is a chance to win money, but it is relaxing and seniors can socialize with persons of their own age. However, there are younger bingo players too. It's a hobby that can be somewhat competitive with each wanting to have more colored dobbers than their friends, the coolest bingo bag, neat T shirts etc Not only can seniors play bingo in bingo halls but it also gives them a chance to teach and play with their grandchildren.
It only shows "what goes around, comes around." Thus they started young here they are playing again. B-I-N-G-O, it's the seniors G-A-M-O!!. e
