A hobby is an activity you enjoy doing in your spare time. Some hobbies can be expensive, such as flying remote controlled airplanes, or collecting authentic native arrow heads or some other obscure items that you must go a ways to find your specimens. These were things you did when you were younger and could get out and hunt for an item to add to your collection.
As you get older you may not like the idea of being 'put out to pasture' as it may be. When you retire you need to keep busy in your body and mind if possible. Some seniors find themselves unable to be mobile but that shouldn't stop them from being entertaining and make it into a hobby. Some seniors can play an instrument and they could go to nursing homes to entertain the shut-ins. If yiu have ever been to a nursing home there may be a resident there who is very funny. Maybe he or she is there for a short time and they like to make people laugh, so as their hobby the can do a comedy routine in the sun room in the afternoon.
If you can sing, go to a nursing home or a senior living facility and take some friends and get up a sing-along with the residents. Go when there is a holiday and dress the season. Elderly people need not shrink away because they are elderly. They would like to join you in your hobby. Let them tell a joke.
