Senior Bingo

Bingo is fun to play at any age, but it is associated with seniors for many reasons. The media shows seniors sitting in large auditoriums playing bingo and having fun with other seniors. The media attempts to show that seniors need a social outlet and something to break up the monotony of the senior's day. In many cases, seniors live alone or in a nursing home or have retired from fast-paced jobs and gradually or suddenly find themselves alone and with nothing to do. Men and women of senior ages need hobbies, and bingo is an excellent hobby.

Another reason that bingo is such a good hobby is that it requires very little exercise or expertise to participate in the game. Often at advanced ages, seniors are unable to go shopping, walking or other activities that require physical strength. Bingo is perfect, and often organizations have services that will pick up seniors and transport them to recreation centers or churches where bingo is a regular activity. In Las Vegas, the casinos will pick up seniors for bingo on a daily or weekly basis.

Seniors also enjoy the camaraderie of meeting other seniors and making new friends, who may have common interests. The competitive aspect of bingo lends some excitement to the senior's day, and even young people are beginning to play bingo at country clubs and recreation centers. This is a good hobby for anyone but a great hobby for a senior citizen.
