Unfortunately, it is a fact that many are working hard so they can live their life the way they want to, but don't take time to enjoy doing the things they want. Therefore it seems reasonable that seniors should be able to make up for it when they retire. Retirement should provide the time for them to do the things they couldn’t do when they had to work.
Making the most of your time is about doing what you always wanted to, and age shouldn't have any bearing on your decision. Even trying something once can significantly improve your life. Therefore, it is up to you whether you decide to pursue the stereotypical hobbies or start to try new things. Whatever you decide, it doesn't matter what other people think as long as you are happy. However, trying something new may give you a sense of satisfaction and achievement.
For those who haven’t yet decided what to do in their retirement years, travel is one hobby that is both fun and educational. Consider getting to know your grandchildren. Travel with them on a camping adventure, take them bird watching, or explore new places and take pictures for a scrapbook. Travel with a senior’s group or take a cruise somewhere you haven’t been before. Volunteer on a trip to assist in an orphanage abroad. This type of trip is a wonderful experience and makes you feel that you have accomplished something worthwhile. It is also a great opportunity to interrelate with others older and younger than you with a diversity of backgrounds.
Traveling can take you near or far, but wherever it takes you, it will always bring new and exciting adventures your way that will help keep you active both physically and mentally.
